| Born in Akron, Ohio, Robert began documenting his surroundings at the age of five. Driven by his passion to tell stories, Robert pursued a multi-disciplinary course of study at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he received his BFA in Photography and Imaging. Shortly after graduating, Robert's interest in the interfacing of art and technology took Robert to Los Angeles where he spent three years learning the craft of filmmaking as an Art Director and Property Master. As wonderful as Los Angeles was, Robert couldn't stay away from New York City for much longer, and returned to the east coast in 2008 to photograph President Obama's Inauguration. Two days later, Robert had the opportunity to shoot another president, this time George W. Bush (played by Will Ferrell) in "You're Welcome America" on Broadway. This kicked off his career as a theatrical production photographer. Robert has photographed the production stills and ad campaigns for over twenty shows on and off-Broadway. Robert has also served as the Resident Production Photographer of Chelsea Opera since 2009. Robert is known for his strong sense of lighting, composition, and range of shooting styles. His ability to capture the intimacy between the lens and his subjects takes Robert around the world where he photographs the people, places, and critical moments that shape our lives. |
